Don't just take it from us, Golf Digest ranks Elkhorn Ridge as the number one public golf course in South Dakota. What makes us so special, you ask? Elkhorn Ridge is located on the Frawley Ranch, which has been listed on the National Registry of Historic Places since 1974, and in 1977 was named a National Historic Landmark by the National Park Service.
The National Register of Historic Places calls the Frawley Ranch a “living illustration of the failure of the 160-acre homestead concept on land ill-suited for farming. The growth of the Frawley Ranch to its present 4,750 acres was made possible by the acquisition of unsuccessful homesteads, and the application of suitable uses to the natural and economic environment.”
In other words, Elkhorn Ridge Golf Club is located on a living, breathing piece of wild west history. From the incredible front nine views of the Centennial Valley, to the back nine winding through the stunning Polo Creek Canyon, Elkhorn Ridge doesn't lack in beauty.
Our club offers the best combination of playing conditions and practice facilities in the Black Hills. With multiple teeing areas, two practice greens, a green-side, and a fairway practice bunker, there is something for players of all levels. But don't just take our word for it, check out Golf Digest!
